Avira Anti Virus

Avira IconAvira GmbH is a German antivirus software company. Its antivirus applications are based on the AntiVir scan engine also known as "Luke Filewalker" (referencing Luke Skywalker), first launched in 1988. It was called "H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH" when it was founded. However, due to aesthetic purposes only, the name was changed to what it currently is now. Avira's engine has been licensed to Ashampoo antivirus Ad-Aware and Webroot WebWasher. Avira is also one of the most widely used Antivirus in the world, with 100 million users worldwide as of September 2009.[1] they support a foundation created by the companies founder and CEO Tjark Auerbach, called the Auerbach Stiftung(Foundation). They support charitable and social projects as well as art, culture and science, to help alleviate those experiencing spiritual, mental, physical, and financial problems.

Product

Avira AntiVir Personal is for personal use only and free of charge. Like most antivirus software, it scans disks for malware and also runs as a background process, checking each opened and closed file. It can detect and possibly remove rootkits.[2] It also performs Internet updates (daily by default) in which it opens a window, with an advertisement suggesting that the user purchase Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite. Avira updated all their products to version 9.0 as of March 2009.

As a free service, Avira offers a bootable rescue CD to all users, regardless of whether they have any Avira products installed (free or non-free), and irrespective of the machine's operating system. This CD contains its own bootable Linux-based operating system as well as the AntiVir program and its latest virus database. If a computer cannot be booted, the CD may be used to boot the machine into the AntiVir program, then to scan for and remove detectable viruses and other malware, thereby possibly restoring normal boot and operation.

Avira AntiVir Premium has several improvements over the free version, most notably:

* Email scanning (POP3 and SMTP)
* WebGuard to block access to malicious sites

Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite Has some more improvements over both versions, including:

* Anti Spam for Email
* Firewall blocks Hackers
* Backup System to protect and secure important data
* AntiBot prevents dangerous bot networks from taking over your system
* Parental Controls blocks unsutable websites for Children and Teens

NetBeans IDE

Netbeans IDE IconNebeans is powerfull, complete and cross platform IDE. NetBeans refers to both a platform for the development of applications for the network (using Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby, Groovy, C, and C++), and an integrated development environment (IDE) developed using the NetBeans Platform.

The NetBeans Platform allows applications to be developed from a set of modular software components called modules. A module is a Java archive file that contains Java classes written to interact with the NetBeans Open APIs and a manifest file that identifies it as a module. Applications built on modules can be extended by adding new modules. Since modules can be developed independently, applications based on the NetBeans platform can be extended by third party developers

The NetBeans IDE is an open-source integrated development environment written entirely in Java using the NetBeans Platform. NetBeans IDE supports development of all Java application types (Java SE, web, EJB and mobile applications) out of the box. Among other features are an Ant-based project system, version control (supporting CVS, Subversion, Mercurial and Clearcase) and refactoring.

Modularity: All the functions of the IDE are provided by modules. Each module provides a well defined function, such as support for the Java language, editing, or support for the CVS versioning system, and SVN. NetBeans contains all the modules needed for Java development in a single download, allowing the user to start working immediately. Modules also allow NetBeans to be extended. New features, such as support for other programming languages, can be added by installing additional modules. For instance, Sun Studio, Sun Java Studio Enterprise, and Sun Java Studio Creator from Sun Microsystems are all based on the NetBeans IDE.

License: From July 2006 through 2007, NetBeans IDE was licensed under Sun's Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL), a license based on the Mozilla Public License (MPL). In October 2007, Sun announced that NetBeans would henceforth be offered under a dual license of the CDDL and the GPL version 2 licenses, with the GPL linking exception for GNU Classpath[6]

NetBeans Profiler

The NetBeans Profiler[7] is a tool for the monitoring of Java applications: It helps you find memory leaks and optimize speed. Formerly downloaded separately, it is integrated into the core IDE since version 6.0.

The Profiler is based on a Sun Laboratories research project that was named JFluid. That research uncovered specific techniques that can be used to lower the overhead of profiling a Java application. One of those techniques is dynamic bytecode instrumentation, which is particularly useful for profiling large Java applications. Using dynamic bytecode instrumentation and additional algorithms, the NetBeans Profiler is able to obtain runtime information on applications that are too large or complex for other profilers. NetBeans also support Profiling Points that let you profile precise points of execution and measure execution time.

GUI design tool

Formerly known as project Matisse, the GUI design-tool enables developers to prototype and design Swing GUIs by dragging and positioning GUI components [8].

The GUI builder has also built-in support for JSR 296 (Swing Application Framework), and JSR 295 (Beans Binding technology).

NetBeans JavaScript Editor

NetBeans JavaScript Editor provides extended support for Javascript and CSS[9][10].

Features comprise:

1. JavaScript editor:
* syntax highlighting,
* refactoring,
* code completion for native objects and functions,
* all NetBeans editor's features,
* generation of JavaScript class skeleton,
* generation of AJAX callback from a template;
* browser compatibility check;
2. CSS editor:
* code completion for styles names,
* quick navigation through the navigator panel,
* display CSS rule declaration in a List View,
* display file structure in a Tree View,
* sort the outline view by name, type or declaration order (List & Tree),
* create rule declaration (Tree only),
* refactor a part of a rule name (Tree only).

Dia - General Purpose Diagramming Software

Dia SnapshootDia is free and open source general-purpose diagramming software, developed as part of the GNOME project's office suite and was originally created by Alexander Larsson. Dia uses a controlled single document interface (CSDI) similar to GIMP and Sodipodi.

Dia has a modular design with several shape packages available for different needs: flowchart, network diagrams, circuit diagrams, and more. It does not restrict symbols and connectors from various categories from being placed together.

Dia can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It has special objects to help draw entity-relationship models (tedia2sql can be used to create the SQL DDL), Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and simple electrical circuits. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) to draw the shape.

Dia loads and saves diagrams to a custom XML format (gzipped by default, to save space) and can print diagrams including very large diagrams that span multiple pages. It can also be scripted using the Python programming language.

Contents
* 1 Exports
* 2 Development
* 3 See also
* 4 References
* 5 External links

Exports
Dia can export diagrams to various formats including the following:

* EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)
* SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)
* DXF (Autocad's Drawing Interchange format)
* CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile defined by ISO standards)
* WMF (Windows Meta File)
* PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
* JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
* VDX (Microsoft's XML for Visio Drawing)

Development

Dia was originally created by Alexander Larsson but he moved on to work on GNOME and other projects. After him James Henstridge took over as lead developer but also moved on to other projects.

Dia is maintained by a group of developers Hans Breuer, Lars Clausen, Steffen Macke, Sameer Sahasrabuddhe.

Dia is written in C, and has a system of extensions that can be written in Python.
